I don’t know when I started to keep an eye on Tu’gether – I follow them on Instagram and Facebook – but their pictures always made me hungry and I was waiting for a while to try their food – very busy at work, and having a 3 years old kid doesn’t help either. Well, it’s for our 10 years wedding anniversary that we finally found the time to enjoy a dinner there, we got rid of our son finally.
And we were not disappointed at all. Surely our best experience for ages in Tricity.
It’s a small restaurant. About 30 seats. Very nicely decorated. Sober. Not too much stuff. Music is modern, not too loud.
We decided to go for a full experience. Starters. Mains. Desserts. Wine (just for me, me wife being pregnant). First, they give you few slices of homemade bread with butter. On a nice plate. The bread was good. And when the bread is good, especially when it is homemade, it’s a very good start.
So for starter she had a beetroot salad with strawberries and cheese. And I had the mackerel ceviche with green apple and kohiroki, grilled squids and beetroot mousse. Everything was good. The mackerel was well marinated. And an explosion of colour with this beetroot mousse!
Then she had the venison sous vide and I took the cod marinated with sugar and salt.
The meat was really tender – unlike our last experience in another restaurant in Gdynia that claimed to do a chicken sous vide that happened to be well overcooked and dry [poor realisation or lying chefs? I don’t know. Anyway we were sick for 2-3 days after that] – the decoration was pleasing, and I like this different textures on a dish. It’s really interesting.
I’m a fish man, so I took the cod. Nicely done. Not too sweet, not too salty. Perfect balance.
Then the desserts. We usually don’t take desserts, in general we always are disappointed. She took the strawberry cheesecake and I took the chocolate dessert.
Well. What else to say? We enjoyed them a lot. Genuinely, frankly, fucking amazing desserts. Excuse my language.
So now? Experience was great. Waitress was pro. Food was damn good. Restaurant is very nice. I’m not often that impressed.
And I loved the plates. I loved the way the food had room to breathe. It’s really interesting how the design of a plate influence how you serve your course.
One of the best place to eat in Sopot, and Gdansk, and Gdynia…
